Minor Spoilers Possible

Spoilers & Progress

Public pages may mention some setting truths, names, identities, or relationships in normal prose when hiding them would make entries harder to read.

How spoilers work

Major progression-sensitive reveals stay inside spoiler blocks.

Those spoiler blocks can auto-open when you mark the matching mission, expedition, or extras entry as complete.

Use Manage Progress to set your reader state, or Clear Progress to stop future automatic reveals.

Summary

Berkav is a volcanic world in the Berkav system, home to the Gralloks and marked by harsh survival, Vanished remnants, and later interworld conflict. *1

Geography

Berkav is dominated by active volcanoes, molten lava, and extensive subterranean caverns. Parts of the system are difficult to reach safely because of upper-atmosphere storms and unstable approaches, which helps preserve the world's sense of isolation even inside a gate-linked galaxy. *1

The world is physically brutal and politically fractured, with warring tribes living under the broader rule of the Omnipotent Overlord. The Berkav Gateway Station, nearby moons, ancient wreckage in orbit, cavern markets, and underground cities beneath the Overlord's palace give Berkav a wider life beyond its battlefields. Everyday survival is shaped by lava-ringed arenas, beranium bridges, use of colite, and food economies built around fungi, grubs, and salvage. Its ecology also includes local predators such as the urgos, large reptilian bat-like creatures that menace cave foragers. *2 *3 *4 *5 *6 *7

History

Berkav is the home of the Gralloks, a people the Luminari tried to strengthen so they could survive the planet's environment. That intervention made the Gralloks harder to kill, but it did not make Berkav gentle or equal. Hidden Vanished sites, smaller Slink communities, and the wider gate crisis all continue to draw the world into conflicts larger than its own tribal wars. Berkav is politically unstable but never static, and proof against the Overlord or aid from a hidden base can shift public sentiment in ways that make the planet feel volatile rather than fixed. *1 *2 *8 *4 *5

Sarhanna's collapse carries Berkav into the surviving-ruler endgame and shows how badly the gate war and the Others' corruption have broken its hidden leadership. *9
